Bogotá / Leticia / Puerto Nariño / Santa Marta / La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City) / Tayrona Natural Park / Cartagena de Indias

This circuit of 17 days outside the conventional paths allows you to meet Colombia’s indigenous populations. From Tikunas and Huitotos communities in the Amazon jungle to the Kogi of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, you can discover the richness of these ancient cultures and the diversity of a charming tropical nature.

Day 1 – Bogotá

Arrival and transfer to the historic center. Check in at the hotel and time for adjusting to the altitude (2600m)

Day 2 – Bogotá

Tour of the historic center of the Colombian capital, famous for its magnificent colonial and republican architecture. In the afternoon, visit to the Botero Foundation.

Day 3 – Bogotá / Zipaquirá

Immersion into the Pre-Columbian culture with a visit to the Gold Museum, which houses a collection considered unique in the world. After lunch, transfer to Zipaquira to discover the salt cathedral. Return to Bogotá.

Day 4 – Bogotá / Leticia / Puerto Nariño

In the morning flight to Leticia , Colombia’s capital of the Amazon region . Transfer by boat to Puerto Nariño and first visit to the town and the native communities.

Day 5 – Puerto Nariño

Visit to the Natutama foundation. Walk in the jungle to discover indigenous plants and their use in traditional medicine. Night out in peque-peque (typical native boat) to venture into the mysterious atmosphere of the jungle.

Day 6 – Puerto Nariño

Departure by boat to Lake Tarapoto to appreciate the unimaginable abundance of animal and plant species and visit indigenous communities. In the evening, presentations of traditional songs and dances in an indigenous Maloca (Indigenous longhouse).

Day 7 – Puerto Nariño / Santa Marta

In the morning , transfer back to Leticia by boat and flight to Santa Marta. Visit Santa Marta , the first Hispanic city founded in South America .

Day 8 – Trek to Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City) (5-day walk)

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the world’s highest coastal mountain range, with summits rising over 5,770 meters.

The lush tropical landscape, the combination of mountain and sea, the presence of indigenous peoples and legends of the mysterious Lost City will make this trek an unforgettable adventure.

The Lost City is located at 1100 meters.

Day 13 – Tayrona Natural Park

Departure to the Tayrona Park, one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. Walk in the Park to appreciate spectacular landscapes of tropical forest and beautiful beaches.

Day 14 – Cartagena de Indias

Transfer by road to Cartagena de Indias, the Pearl of the Caribbean. First visit to the historic center.

Day 15 – Cartagena de Indias

Tour of the old city. Visit the Museum of the Inquisition and the Castle of San Felipe de Barajas.

Day 16 – Islas del Rosario / Cartagena

Rest day in this magnificent archipelago, near Cartagena where you can enjoy of the beautiful white sand beach and the transparent water.

Day 17 – Cartagena / Bogotá / Return

Breakfast in Cartagena, transfer to airport and flight to Bogota. International return flight.
