Day 1 – Bogotá
Arrival and transfer to the historic center. Check in at the hotel and time for adjusting to the altitude (2600m)
Day 2 – Bogotá
Tour of the historic center of the Colombian capital, famous for its magnificent colonial and republican architecture. In the afternoon, visit to the Botero Foundation.
Day 3 – Bogotá / Salento
Immersion into the Pre-Columbian culture with a visit to the Gold Museum, which houses a collection considered unique in the world. After lunch, transfer to airport, flight from Bogota to Armenia. Road transfer to Salento.
Day 4 – Coffee Hacienda
Morning dedicated to the process of planting and harvesting coffee, the “black gold” of Colombia. Free afternoon.
Day 5 – Valle del Cocora
Visit to the Cocora Valley, famous for its wax palms. Hike to the Cerro del Morro Gacho to appreciate the flora of the region. Free Afternoon.
Day 6 – Salento / Cali
Road transfer to Cali, capital of salsa. Visit the historic center with the charming colonial neighborhood of San Antonio. Dance class (salsa, merengue, vallenato …) and dinner with an exceptional salsa show.
Day 7 – Cali / Popayán
Visit the typical market of Alameda. Transfer to Popayan road, located halfway between Bogota and Quito. Visit of religious buildings in the historic center.
Day 8 – Popayán / San Agustín
Transfer by road to St. Augustine. Visit the Archaeological Park of San Agustin, the most important pre-Columbian site of Colombia.
Day 9 – San Agustín
Visit the archaeological parks of Alto de los Ídolos and Alto de las Piedras. These parks are, after St. Augustine, the second most relevant archaeological sites in the region, and contain the remains of a religious and ritual center.
Day 10 – San Agustín / Neiva
Horse ride (or walking and / or by jeep) of the archaeological sites of El Tablón, the Chaquira, the Pelota and Purutal. In teh afternoon, transfer to Neiva by road.
Day 11 – Neiva / Villa de Leyva
Transfer to Neiva’s airport and flight to Bogota. Transfer by road to Zipaquira to discover the salt cathedral. Continue to Villa de Leyva by road and transfer to the hotel.
Day 12 – Villa de Leyva
Tour of Villa de Leyva, an exquisitely preserved place and one of the most beautiful colonial towns in the country. In the afternoon visit the archaeological park Infiernito, an ancient astronomical observatory of teh Muiscas. Visit the monastery of the Ecce homo, important place of evangelization in the colonial era.
Day 13 – Villa de Leyva / Santa Marta
Transfer to airport of Bogotá and flight to Santa Marta. Visit Santa Marta, the first Hispanic city founded in South America.
Day 14 –Tayrona Natural Park
Departure to the Tayrona Natural Park, surely one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. Walk in the park to appreciate spectacular landscapes of tropical forest and beautiful beaches.
Day 15 – Cartagena de Indias
Transfer by road to Cartagena de Indias, the Pearl of the Caribbean. First visit the historic center.
Day 16 – Cartagena de Indias
Tour of the old town. Visit to the Museum of the Inquisition and the Castle of San Felipe de Barajas.
Day 17 – Islas del Rosario / Cartagena
Day to rest and swim in this magnificent archipelago, near Cartagena.
Day 18 – Cartagena / Bogotá / Return
Breakfast in Cartagena, transfer to airport and flight to Bogota. International return flight.
